Frequently Asked Questions
How long do you usually play for?
We usually play two 45 minute sets but can play for longer if you require. Many events have specific requirements so we often arrange performance times to suit these needs. If you need to check with us, or want some advice on what works best then please get in touch.
Unlike other function bands, we are very proud of our horn section and are key to our unique sound, therefore we do not offer the brass as an add-on, you get this as standard!
If you hire Soulsetters, you get the full 8 piece band comprising of: One female singer, guitar, bass, keys, drums, trumpet, sax and trombone.
Do you travel outside of the North West?
Yes. We cover Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, West Yorkshire, North Wales, Cumbria, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
From time to time we play gig’s at local pubs and clubs to allow clients to view us before booking. Please see our gig page for further details.
Do you need a deposit?
We require a 20% booking fee which will then secure your date in our diary. This deposit is deducted from the total fee with the remaining balance payable on or before the date of performance. Please note that this deposit is non refundable after a period of one week from the date of payment.
There are no hidden costs when you book us for your event. The price we quote is the price you pay. We specify everything in writing once we receive a deposit so you have complete peace of mind.
What is your cancellation policy?
Once a booking has been confirmed we offer a 7 day ‘cooling off’ period, within which time the client may cancel the booking and be entitled to a full refund of any deposit paid. After this time the deposit is non-refundable. If the event is cancelled or postponed lass than 4 weeks before the performance, 50% of the total agreed fee will be due at the point of cancellation.
Once we have received confirmation of your event, we will be in touch to confirm all timings and technical details, either directly with yourselves, the venue or via the organiser.
It takes about 90 minutes from when we arrive to set up and soundcheck. Sometimes we can reduce this, but if the room is being used then it is more difficult to shorten our setup time.
Can you set up earlier in the day?
We can set-up earlier in the day and return later for our performance, although this will incur an extra fee.
As part of our wedding package, we offer the couple the option of a free custom arrangement of any song which can be used towards your first dance if it is not already in our repertoire. This is subject to booking with sufficient notice, so that we can arrange and practice the number.
What is your dress code?
We all dress smartly, but if you would prefer us to dress more casually then just let us know!
